Asus Gaming Laptop Dilemma

I currently have this Asus g51j that I bought last year and was discontinued shortly after.  I guess there's a problem with the i7core because there is CPU throttle?  I think Asus has a 2 year warranty and I bought it a year ago on amazon.  Should I try to get Asus to send me a newer one that costs the same or am I screwed because I bought it from amazon? 

This computer bsod's from firefox sometimes as well as games.  Not really digging the new style of the g51, however this computer is driving me insane.  I experience lag while typing periodically until I restart the computer.  Then it's fine for a while until I'm on Firefox for a couple of hours.

    lol, custom desktops are the best. I agree with you there. But the convenience of a gaming laptop is nicer because I switch to 3 different houses periodically.
